Wind Mill
Wind energy is one of the safest energy technologies. It is a matter of record that no member of the public has ever been injured during the normal operation of a wind turbine, with over 25 years operating experience and with more than 70,000 machines installed around the world.
The simplest way to think about how a wind turbine works, imagine that a wind turbine works in exactly the opposite way to a fan. Instead of using electricity to make wind, like a fan, turbines use the wind to make electricity.
Almost all wind turbines producing electricity consist of rotor blades, which rotate around a horizontal hub. The hub is connected to a gearbox and generator, which are located inside the nacelle. The nacelle is the large part at the top of the tower where all the electrical components are located.
Most wind turbines have three blades, which face into the wind and the wind turns the blades round. This spins the shaft, which connects to a generator and this is where the electricity is made. A generator is a machine that produces electrical energy from mechanical energy, as opposed to an electric motor, which does the opposite.

The electricity the wind turbine produces depends on the wind speed. Most wind turbines need winds 10 miles an hour or more for energy to be created. Generally, One 1.8 MW wind turbine at a reasonable site would produce over 4,7 million units of electricity each year, enough to meet the annual needs of over 1,000 households, or to run a computer for over 1,620 years.

Wind energy is a renewable form of energy. It is free to harness and doesn’t create pollution or contribute to global warming; Although they are a great source of energy, it does have a very big drawback. What happens when there is no wind? Wind is never constant and another form of energy is needed to create electricity when there is no wind. Over the years, as research and technology have improved, windmills have dropped in price and have increased in effectiveness harnessing wind energy and changing it into electricity. In the years to come, expect to see more wind turbines being used around the world to create electricity for homes, businesses and industries.
What were doing is building a small wind turbine that is cost effective, easy to build, and can be installed within a day at any home in America. We are going to try and build a working windmill in won month that is at least 25 percent efficient and can pay for itself within two to four years. Our vision is that if everyone in the United States builds thier own turbine that the country could take a major step in moving away from burning coal to fuel our energy demands.
Fish and River friendly Hyrdro power- We are in the process of desinging a new form of "dam" that does not block entire rivers.
